Seeking qualified professionals to consider for our Manufacturing Engineer position for the Wet End (Pulp & Paper) departments.  These positions will work closely with both reliability and maintenance departments in the development of long-term asset strategies. The manufacturing engineer will report to the facility wet end leader within our consumer products manufacturing operation.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Providing leadership in the achievement of improved performance in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, customer satisfaction, organizational effectiveness, cost management and asset utilization in the pulping operations area, consistent with Management Principles.
  • Develop and implement complete Asset Strategies for secondary fiber process equipment including: Condition Based Monitoring, Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Operating Envelope, Operator Basic Care/Zone Ownership and Spare Parts optimization
  • Evaluate, approve and prioritize equipment repairs and scheduled shutdowns utilizing the Asset Maintenance Work Process
  • Coach and develop operators to reliably operate equipment and processes
  • Work closely with operators and customers to troubleshoot process, quality and equipment issues and evaluate and implement improvement ideas
  • Develop, initiate and execute capital projects
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis process and execute effective corrective actions
  • Create a safe workplace with all environmental, safety and business practices with emphasis on identifying and mitigating critical risks
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain necessary departmental records and reports.
  • Regularly help communicate, articulate, and direct departmental priorities to achieve mill and company visions.
  • Experience and ability to successfully work in a team-based environment.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field OR 5+ years in a continuous manufacturing operation role
  • 1+ year of experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or military environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas), Teams, and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or Paper Science
  • 3+ years of experience working in a pulp or paper mill
  • Experience initiating and/or executing capital projects
  • Experience working in a recycled pulp or paper operation
  • Experience with PI or other data historian programs
